Jalapeno Records came to us, following our successful shoot for their artist Gizelle Smith. Izo wanted something very different, something really quite odd, and something that stands out. We conceptualised, sourced locations, props and wardrobe and then shot and delivered this gem.
Super odd, but really fun. Aside from the 3-min radio edit, we also shot a longer form edit of 7-min, for the extended vocal cut.

For nearly a century, the 24 Hours of Le Mans has tested the skills, the stamina and the teamwork of the world's top endurance racers. Piloti’s @24heuresdumans Endurance sneaker requires just that, teamwork, to make it from the workshops in Portugal, straight to the customer. We followed the shoe as it was handcrafted from scratch, in supple nubuck leather, soft suede and recycled cotton.

We wrote a treatment based around the catchy refrain “5, 4, 3, 2, 1! Now you’re gone!”, where Gizelle and her partner are on a robbing spree, taking diners for everything they have (which just so happens to be bank notes with Gizelle’s face on them).
We wanted the video to be light-hearted, but with a black comedic twist, so rather than holding guns, the pair simply point their fingers, as a child might.
Creating a behind-the-scenes of a recording session, with random chroma screen elements, isn’t a typical shoot. Though, there’s very little about Houssein that you could label as typical. Mixing high-end 4K filming with low-fi VHS effects, Houssein’s concept gives just a little insight into the world inside his head, brimming with ideas and full of creativity - it was great to support him in the making of this music video, and we’re looking forward to seeing what he comes up with next.
Birdhouse were asked to create a brand film to tell the brand story of Wow Books. This would be an essential part of a new website, to launch the brand to consumer publishers around the world. The film has been used as part of an integrated B2B campaign consisting of DM, social media and PR to promote personalised story books and photo books.
Told from the perspective of a news reader, Ben played a strung out Anchorman, as well as himself, fresh off the road and waiting in a launderette. We added a heavy extra amount of eccentricity, a touch of rhinestone clad dancers, and the result is almost as fun to watch as it was to make it. All in all, quite a standard Tuesday.

During the Northern Powerhouse Business Summit, we captured a broad range of speakers from Scot Gardner, the Chief Executive of Cisco UK & Ireland, to fashion designer Wayne Hemingway MBE, the co-founder of Red or Dead, and Mark Carney, the Governor of the Bank of England and Chair of the Monetary Policy Committee.
We had very limited time to turn the shoot and edit around, but wanted to add a layer of grit and grime that would reflect a little of Laurence’s music. No story needed, as his performance says it all - always a pleasure to work with, and a true talent.

The Baby by Based Upon is a spectacular collaboration between Goldfinch and Based Upon, a London-based artist studio, renowned for its unique and innovative contemporary British art. Rich Hardcastle conceptualised a tale of a composer, playing his final piece of work on a heavenly piano. We filmed the story at Based Upon’s studio, then cut the promo film together at our edit suite in Tunbridge Wells.
Seasonal promo film for Belgian sugar brand Tiense Suiker. Pedro’s concept followed a young boy as he dreamed of celebrating Halloween, only to discover his home town had no celebrations. The story follows the boy growing up, baking cookies to put out for the festivities, each year being disappointed. Finally, as an elderly man, he gets a knock at his door. We filmed the promo in Ghent, Brussels. The commercial screened in several festivals worldwide, including the International Children’s Film Festival in India, and the Open Fields Film Festival in Australia.
